A REVIEW ON IMAGE PROCESSING

Abstract
Abstract - Image processing entails altering an image's fundamental properties to enhance its graphical content for automatic machine perception as well as for human interpretation. A subset of the electronic domain known as digital image processing involves converting an image into an array of tiny numbers, or pixels, that represent a physical quantity, such as scene radiance. The pixels are then stored in a digital memory and processed by a computer or other digital hardware. The improvement of pictorial information for human interpretation and the processing of image data for storage, transmission, and representation for autonomous machine perception are the two main application areas driving interest in digital image processing techniques. Boundaries are described by edges, and as edge detection is one of the most challenging image processing tasks, it is a problem of fundamental significance Keywords - Image Enhancement, Feature Extraction.
