Paper Title
Review of Braking System in Motors

Abstract
Conversion of electrical energy to mechanical energy is done by rotating electrical machines. It is possible to use most of the machines as motor or generator and also it is easy to switch between these states. This action makes them preferable in any dynamic application. The electric motors in EVs and HEVs can be controlled to operate as generators to convert the kinetic or potential energy of the vehicle mass into electric energy that can be stored in the energy storage and reused. This paper mainly describes different types of braking that can be applied to a bldc drive used in an electric vehicle. Various braking methods are introduced and described. Keywords - Braking, Electric vehicle, Dynamic, Plugging, Regenerative.
