Behaviour based Safety among Workers and Management Level towards a Better Safety Culture in Construction Industry
Human behaviour is a major contributor of construction accidents; nearly 80% of the accidents/incidents occur due to unsafe behaviours. The presence of good safety behaviour does reflect good safety compliance. Safety issue cannot be tackle effectively without interference of employers with a particular pattern of behaviours as important criteria needed to change employee’s behaviours. Also different levels of management influence safety practices within organizations in a different ways. Thus, the primary objective to change behaviours in work among workers and management in the construction project. This paper is an initial study with the hope that the finding a better behavioural safety compliance among workmen, supervisors and management in the construction industry.
