Cobalt(III) Complexes of Oxaazamacrocycles Derived from α-Diketones and 1,12-Diamino-4,9-Dioxadodecane

Abstract
Co(III) complexes of the type [Co(L)Cl2]Cl (L–dioxodiazamacrocyclic with 16-membered ring) were synthesized by the template condensation of Cobalt (III) with a mixture of two different ligands i.e α -diketones, such as 2, 3-butanedione, 2,3-pentanedione, 3,4-hexanedione, 1-phenyl-1,2-propanedione, benzil and 4,4’-dimethylbenzil and dioxadiamines such as 1,12-diamino-4,9-dioxadodecane in 1:1:1 molar ratio. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic moments measurements, as well as infrared and electronic spectroscopy.
