Design & Analysis of an Aerofoil Assembly to Enhance the Cornering Stability of an Automobile
This paper focuses on a modified design of an automotive aerofoil wing to counter the effects of tractive loss of a vehicle due to weight transfer during cornering. The tractive loss during cornering results in inefficient corner traverse. Hence, the main focus of the paper is to increase the downforce on a specific set of wheels which face reduced loading due to the effects of this weight transfer to improve its traction and cornering capacity. Owing to lack of development in this particular field, it forms the core of the paper. Therefore, this paper aims to make progress by enhancing the cornering stability without compromising on vehicular speed.
