Paper Title
Productivity Enhancement through Waste Reduction using FMEA Technique for Plastic Injection Molding

Abstract
Plastic has been widely used in industry for numerous application by applying different processes like Injection molding, roto-molding, stretch blow molding etc., Plastic waste is generated during these processes. To attack on root i.e. plastic waste generation should be monitored & controlled. The waste hierarchy describes some conventional approaches for the minimization and management of waste respectively. However, waste prevention is the most preferred option, because it avoids generation of waste. At the same time productivity enhancement is one of the key point in industry due to heavy rejection material loss. To address this issue an experimental investigation is performed to reduce rejection percentage. In the present study Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) methodology is utilized for enhancing productivity and reducing waste due to quality rejection. The result shows that application of this methodology aids in reduction of waste by more than 50% which has ultimate impact in improvement of productivity and customer satisfaction.
