Recounting Ordeal of Split and Estrangement in Shauna Singh Baldwin’s What The Body Remembers

Abstract
Shauna Singh Baldwin, lived in three continents- U.S.A., Canada, and India, is a Diasporic writer whose novel What The Body Remembers is a tale of displaced persons. Shauna Singh Baldwin, being familiar with the demands made by the forces of diaspora, has portrayed main protagonists- Sardarji his wives Satya, and Roop who go through ordeal of split and estrangement at different levels. This research paper is an endeavor to explore and analyze the sufferings and trauma of these characters those were displaced at the time of partition and tried to re-root their roots.
