Abstract
Abstract - The objective of writing this review article on Emerging Technologies is to explore the IDEAS2 (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, Safety & Security) which will have Better Business & HR Deliverables. With the advent of emerging immersive technologies there is still a massive gap in our understanding of its opportunities and challenges/perils. Prima facie with regards to the large virtual environment, Web 3.0; Metaverse, which combines virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and the internet, this article attempts to simplify it. This will satiate the intellectual curiosity related to this domain by providing a comprehensive foundation of Metaverse. It will help in suggesting measures to be more efficient and effective for HR Business leaders in this Age of Tech. We will also showcase the opportunities, challenges and the potential scope for further research by compilation of key insights from the review analysis. To address the curiosity, we advanced our exploration via the methodology of diving deep into various research articles, journals, primarily three academic databases; Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar and few company reports / periodicals which discussed on the above advanced Internet technology and a bit more. The results show that we are definitely moving from a plain vanilla environment to a niche specific world, hence we need to adapt to this emerging era of Metaverse as quickly as possible. It is all geared up to make a significant impact in almost all industries; technology, medical, education, retail, sports, entertainment, gaming et al. Digital savviness is a mandatory skill and an attitude to consistently build our ability for greater collaboration with all stakeholders to derive the best benefits from this emerging technology; Metaverse. The metaverse is in its nascent stage, probably it will take 5 -10 years to function in full throttle. We all need to be a part of this growth journey to be thriving and living an exemplary life. There is lot of scope for further research to enable bridging the gap between physical and digital realities. We need to unbox the yet unknown world of metaverse and create a community of development with safety, security and wellness as our top priority.
