Paper Title
Solar Parabolic Trough Collectors: Performance Optimization and Future Trends
Abstract
Solar energy, a renewable resource, offers thermal energy at no cost. It can be utilized in the form of thermal or electrical energy, with recent research focusing extensively on solar thermal energy applications. Among the available technologies, the parabolic trough collector (PTC) stands out as a well-established and efficient method for generating thermal energy. This review paper highlights the contributions of various researchers to the development and optimization of parabolic trough collectors. It covers key aspects such as the structural design of PTCs, heat transfer fluids, reflectors, receivers, and thermal storage systems. Additionally, the paper explores the diverse applications of parabolic trough collectors across different domains. Finally, a comprehensive summary of the reviewed literature is presented, emphasizing that the parabolic trough collector remains one of the most effective solar thermal technologies in use today.
