IOT SERVICES IN THE EDUCATION SECTOR WITH AN EDGE COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT
Abstract
Broad Area of Work: Knowledge is something we acquire and evaluate as humans. To refine our knowledge, we need education. Education is crucial in modern society. The evolution of humans and the world we live in today are directly influenced byknowledge. With technology, a teacher can explain a complex concept to his students in a very easy way. This shift has benefited greatly from IoT in particular.
Background: It has taken several years to shift from the Blackboard to the Smartboard teaching style. Pencils, whiteboards, and papers are quickly replaced with IoT-powered devices, changing older teaching methods. The Internet of Things, the extension of Internet connectivity to physical devices and everyday objects, is an influential part of technology. With the help of IoT, the education system has achieved success. Today's education systems use smart boards instead of whiteboards that allow teachers to explain content and graphics simply with a pen. The school administration was always concerned about the attendance of its students. It is a daily job that cannot be replaced at all. With an IoT-based Smart Attendance system, attendance can be automatically recorded when a student enters the classroom. In this way, the attendance work can be done very smoothly and avoids the possibility of collusion.
Objectives: The objectives of my dissertation are as follows:
• Create anIoT based system that follows the features of scalability, artificial intelligence, and edge computing.
• Develop anautomatic grading system for the students, which analyzes the performance of a student by his/her grade and inspects the reason if the performance is not up to the mark.
• Develop an autocorrect option in the smartboard that can identify any grammatical mistake that could happen by an educator by mistake.
Scope of Work: By uniting all of the common devices under the shade of the Internet of Things, the inherent applications of IoT are influencing today’s society, launching an educational revolution. This study offers an efficient IoT-based application which will evaluate the student’s performance and produce the grading automatically. If the result is not as per expectations, then with the help of the AI tools and sensors, it will try to detect the reason. After getting the reason, the educator can work on that, and the performance of the student can improve.Smartboard with autocorrect enabled feature will be a great tool for educators to make their work more effective and presentable.This application will be adaptable to different curricula, provide real-time data analysis, and facilitate interactive learning. With the scalability feature, it will be designed so that the needs of schools grow without significant additional investment. In terms of connectivity, as data travels shorter from source to edge, users can enjoy better network speeds and performance with lower latency.
