Confronting Gender Discrimination, Stereotypes, and Biases: A Call to Transform Society

Abstract
Stereotypes, prejudices, and the general impact of gender discrimination in society’s institutions continue to restrict women's access to leadership, equal opportunities, and social acceptance.These institutional barriers foster inequality because they influence how people view themselves, how women are portrayed in the media, and how people succeed in their careers. Based on Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) this study aimed to gain a deeper understanding of how women fit within institutional discrimination, stereotypes, and media expectations.The research provides some illustrations of persisting gender stereotypes in the media, cultural conventions that drive women into predetermined roles, and long-standing workplace discrimination.
