Paper Title
A Machine Learning based Irrigation Management System using IoT: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract
Modern agriculture has evolved into a data-driven and highly precise industry, contrary to traditional perceptions. The rise of IoT-based technologies has transformed farming practices by shifting from general estimates to accurate, real-time decision-making. This review explores how wireless sensors and IoT are revolutionizing agriculture, outlining their role in soil analysis, crop health monitoring, irrigation management, and pest control. It also discusses how these technologies support farmers throughout all stages—from sowing to harvesting, packaging, and transport. Additionally, the use of drones for crop surveillance and yield optimization is examined. Various IoT architectures and platforms used in agricultural setups are highlighted, along with the technical challenges faced when integrating these tools with conventional farming. The paper concludes by identifying current applications and pointing out key areas for future research in smart agriculture.
