Paper Title
Leveraging Digital Platforms for Economic Inclusion in Rural India
Abstract
Consequently, digital platforms like UPI and ONDC have further opened up rural economies in India he suggests, increasing market access and financial inclusiveness. This is also consistent with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). This study examines how they have affected rural entrepreneurship by concentrating on income growth, market expansion, and impediments to technological innovation such as literacy differences in new forms of communication. A mixed methods approach is used to survey 120 rural entrepreneurs in Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh about their economic performance, while in-depth case studies are made on 10 users of the platforms exploring problems like infrastructure gaps. The results of hidden interviews, surveys and phone calls show that 70% of users have seen a 10–15 percent increase in income, although some 60% suffer from digital illiteracy. This study suggests government intervention, such as profits from digital education programs and infrastructure investment for more sustainable development. Such recommendations reflect the focus on technology and education in ICMREST-2025. These findings offer a roadmap for leveraging digital platforms to promote economic inclusion in rural India–a lesson that could benefit people around the world.
