Paper Title
Building a Strategic Knowledge Management Framework in Aviation (SKMF-A): Enablers, Challenges, and Opportunities for Safety and Operational Excellence
Abstract
This paper examines the strategic role of Knowledge Management (KM) in enhancing safety, operational efficiency, and resilience in the aviation sector. Through case studies from both civil and military aviation, it introduces the Strategic Knowledge Management Framework for Aviation (SKMF-A), which integrates leadership commitment, digital infrastructure, and a culture of continuous learning. The study identifies key enablers and challenges, offering practical and scalable recommendations for KM implementation in high-reliability aviation environments. The framework also emphasizes the growing role of AI-powered tools - such as predictive maintenance and automated reporting systems - which are increasingly vital for advancing operational performance and proactive decision-making.
