Privacy Solutions in Smart Grids: Acritical Literature Review and Proposed Path Forward

Abstract
In this study, the primary privacy and security issues surrounding smart grids are examined. Existing literature on privacy protection measures is reviewed, considering factors such as cost, simplicity, effectiveness, and robustness. Strengths and weaknesses of various solutions are analyzed. From this examination, a succinct and efficient architecture is proposed to tackle the privacy concerns associated with smart grids. This proposed solution incorporates selected strategies from existing literature, with a focus on affordability, user agency, and maintaining utility and functionality. While the proposed architecture presents an advanced solution, it is advised to conduct further research and small-scale testing before implementing it widely. Keywords - Smart grids, Data privacy, Security.
